About The Role
As a taxi marshal you will:
  • Ensure permitted taxis adhere to the taxi rank terms and conditions of use and report all breaches of taxi terms and conditions, using the correct process
  • Minimise congestion at the taxi rank / drop off area
  • Be a host and primary point of contact whilst assisting customers / passengers who may require assistance
  • Ensure that parking enforcement is carried out, and correctly reported and recorded
In your role as a Taxi marshal and parking patrol officer you are expected to adhere/contribute to the following requirements:

Operational duties

  • To monitor traffic flow to ensure the smooth running of the taxi rank operation, ensuring all taxi drivers have valid permits to operate.
  • To ensure permitted Taxis adhere to the Taxi Rank terms and conditions of use
  • To report all Breaches of Taxi Terms and Conditions, using the correct process
  • To be a Host and primary point of contact whilst assisting customers / passengers who may require assistance
  • To minimise congestion at the Taxi Rank and drop off area
  • Maintain compliance with company policies on Health & Safety
  • Follows up on recommended adjustments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • To report identified criminal activity in accordance with company and local station procedures
  • To complete relevant documentation as appropriate
  • To operate and clean parking control equipment as appropriate
  • To regulate entry and exit of vehicles to and from car park
  • To monitor the appearance of the designated car park, taking action to ensure that Company standards are achieved and maintained
  • To remove graffiti from walls, surfaces, signage and equipment using appropriate cleaning materials
  • To report evidence of substance abuse
  • To collect and remove waste and refuse in accordance with company procedures
  • To ensure Parking Enforcement is correctly reported and recorded
  • To ensure all faults are reported and recorded following the correct procedure
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the Supervisor/Manager or other APCOA senior representative

Working Practices

  • Implements traffic control measures within the car parks and the taxi holding and drop off areas as defined in the site map
  • Maintains the expected standards of quality, cleanliness and safety
  • To provide a high standard of customer service to all car park users / customers and resolves customer concerns in a timely and efficient manner
  • To be visible in the car parks and the point of contact for customer queries and/or concerns
  • To be actively visible in the Taxi holding area and the Taxi Pick-up/Drop-off area


  • Apply problem solving skills to resolve problems and answer customer questions with empathy and on a timely basis
  • To undertake foot patrols of the car park
  • To assist customers in distress or in need of other assistance
  • To monitor activity on the car park and to deter any criminal activity
  • To maintain good relations with all customers and internal and external stakeholders
What you’ll do

SIA badge advisable but not essential.  

Door and security experience required as this is sometimes a high pressure environment.

12 hour shifts 10am – 10pm
Working 4 days on, 4 days off (Weekend shifts required)
42 hours per week
