About The Role
Working as the on–site Security/Parking Manager ensuring all operational requirements and service level agreements are met through all aspects of the Security and Parking contract.
Fulfilling quality standards and ensuring contractual requirements are maintained, and the financial performance of the contract achieved and exceeds our shareholder expectations
 
Reporting to the Contract/Operations Manager take responsibility to manage the day to day running of the security and parking operations across the hospital site. Must have the ability to make effective decisions under pressure whilst dealing with a variety of departments. Proven track record of effective management of all aspects of teams ensuring diversity, disciplinary and absence protocols are managed correctly. Evidence of managing strong teams is essential. Highly competent with all MS Office products along with excellent written and verbal communication an absolute must. This is a varied management role for an ambitious individual who relishes a challenge.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist the Contract Manager & Operations Manager in ensuring the smooth delivery of the contract with operational responsibility for day to day management of the security and car park management team and operation.
  • Management and planning of resources including the effective deployment of staff throughout the contract ensuring operational requirements are met within budget
  • Resolve all operational problems within the scope of the contract and prepare responses to relevant parties within established time frames, to all service complaints and contractual issues raised
  • Monitor budget and contract spend in relation to uniform, stationary and other supplies ensuring effective cost control
  • Identify and assist in the development of new business within the contract
  • Develop, coach and mentor the team.
  • Set objectives, conduct appraisals and identifying training needs for operational staff
  • Monitor and manage staff absence and lateness
  • Actively lead with recruitment and appointment of additional or replacement resources as the business needs dictate
  • Manage and deal with disciplinary matters and grievances within the contract, ensuring all procedures are followed in line with company policies
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained including ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times throughout the contract in line with current procedures.
  • Develop beneficial relationship with the client, ensure overall client satisfaction and attend client meetings where necessary
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports in line with the client and Apcoa’s reporting requirements
  • Deputise for the Security Manager when required, and in periods of leave and absence
What you’ll do
Skills and abilities - essential
  • Strong people management skills gained within a diverse workforce, including coaching, training and recruiting skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to present to Management level
  • Able to operate effectively with the minimum of supervision
  • SIA Manned Guarding or DS license holder (minimum)
Experience - essential
  • Minimum 2 years management experience at Team Manager or equivalent level, gained within the last 3 years.
  • Experience of operating within a customer facing environment.
  • Experience of implementing effective cost control and understanding of budgets
  • Experience of working within the security industry
  • Experience of monitoring KPIs
  • Preparation of reports
Experience - desired
  • Worked within a client facing role
  • Experience of working within parking field.
  • Experience of training and coaching.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV control room and camera enforcement and procedures
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent administration office skills
  • Experience in delivering customer service
